Explanation / Answer
Have you ever thought about "fake" games or those that seem very similar to others?
Answer: Generally fake games were available in the market with the small change in the name or logo but resembling the popular games and this is mainly we find when we buy CD or DVD versions of the games mainly in the third world countries and in developing countries. I never thought or heard of games similar to others as discussed in the topic before. There may be a copy of game methods but at least other things changes.
How wide spread do you think this is now? In the future?
Answer: The Internet technology has made the things easy where you can get things near you with a click of button and the whole world has become a global village due to the internet. As every technology have positive and negative impacts. The hacking and stealing of data has also increased. The stealing of ideas, rules, methods etc utilized in developing the systems have become more in these days. The case shown is just an tip of an iceberg and there will be many cases may not come to light and definitely there will be a exponential increase in the near future if proper steps are not taken. It is unethical since the company spends a lot of time, money, Manpower in developing these things and when such things happen innovative ideas cannot be put forward since no company dares to invest money in bringing the product out.
How difficult do you think it is to prove these types of infringements?
Answer: It is difficult to prove these infringements as the duplicating company uses the same music, interfaces, logo etc. they tell that the development of the project was done totally using different language, copied Logo has very small variations where we cannot detect it until and unless we concentrate on it. Music he can claim that he has changed some notes, pitches in it. Copied projects are generally similar small changes are done changing of name, minor changes in the names of the characters. The copied projects as they concentrate on the drawbacks of the original project and try to modify them and do some better performance. When it comes to the court they generally show these changes hence difficult to prove these types of infringements
