Question

Anuj, Brooke, and Cameron are at a chocolate café. Each of them orders a brownie, a scoop of ice cream, or both. There are also tea and coffee available as drinks. Nobody who ordered ice cream got tea. Everybody who ordered a brownie got coffee. Whatever drink that Cameron ordered, Anuj did not order, and whatever drink that Cameron did not order, Anuj did order. Anuj was thirsty and ordered both tea and coffee. Assume you are limited to using the following predicate Dessert(x, y): x orders y as a dessert x, y): x orders y as a drink

Explanation / Answer

Dessert(x) : Dessert(Ice cream) -> ~Drink(Tea)

Dessert(x) : Dessert(brownie)-> Drink(coffee)

Drink(x) : Cameon(x)-> ~Anuj(x)

Drink(y) : Anuj(Tea, Coffee) -> Ordered(x)

Ordered(x) : Anuj(Tea) -> Anuj(Brownie)

Drink (x) : Anuj(tea) -> Cameron(coffee)

Dessert(x) : Cameron(coffee)-> Cameron(Ice cream)

Hence because Anuj odered both tea and coffee in dessert he ordered brownie , and cameron ordered Ice cream in contrast to Anuj.
