Question

Have you or a close family member ever been a hospital patient? How did you feel when you or that person was in the hospital? Did you feel that you or your family member was in a safe environment? Did you trust that the people taking care of you or your family member were qualified and that you would receive the best care possible? Did you trust the medical team and feel that you could openly ask questions? Did they explain the procedures to be done in a way that everyone understood and felt comfortable with what was going to be done? Now that you have taken this course, would you have handled the above situation differently? What would you have done? How would your feelings have changed?

I'm stuyding Microbiology class, and the answer should relate to this book "Microbiology an Introduction; Tortora, Funke, Case; 11th Edition, 2012 Benjamin/Cummings Publishing Co., Menlo Park, CA" and the answer shouldn't be too long.

Explanation / Answer

yes, i myself have been hospitalised for respiratory disorder. I was nervous indeed as the very environment, the odor, the ambience all add to our anxiety. the fear of who is going to treat me as ling as i am with them. fear about their judgement, or diagnosis. though the very profession of the medicos and para-medics is to save lives, fear spares no one, untill and unless a person is super brave. trust is a very basic thing in any encounter especially in cases as this. even if a person is not trustworthy, our trust in them will make them trustworthy. so yes, i do trust my caretakers.

all doctors or paramedics dont explain everything to everyone as it is time consuming and tedoius but they do answer when asked or questioned. they are in fect very patient with patients and respond in most kindness and clear all doubts. if i were in the medical field i would treat the mind first, build confidence in the patient and improve his mental strength so thet his body gets the immune system to co-operate with the medications or procedures.
