Question
Your organization has saved on one computer 2 terabytes of painstakingly edited video that you would like to preserve. If this computer hard drive fails or the machine is lost to theft or natural disaster, your organization would suffer a significant financial setback in terms of the labor that went into creating these videos. All of the following would be possible options for preserving this data. Which option would be the WORST or provide the least chance for recovery.
setup a RAID array of disk drives to provide local storage--ensures recovery in the event of an HDD failureExplanation / Answer
Solution:
The worst option for data preservation is copy the videos to DVD and store them in the office assistant desk drawer, because it is most unsecured method for backup. There is no security of backup data in office assistant desk drawer. It is on-site backup so in case of natural disasters backup and original data both will be lost. So it is the worst method for backing-up important data.
RAID is also on-site data backup technology, but it provides some degree of security.
Cloud storage and NAS server both are off-site storage technologies and better in some ways.
End of the day we can say storing data on insecured DVD's and placing them in office assistant desk drawer I'd the worst and provide least chance for recovery.
