I need help finding 7 academic sources on the subject of distributed databases for a research paper I have to write. I have no Idea where to begin. Here is my topic approval I had to submit if it helps out: "The topic that will be submitted for approval for this research paper is that of distributed databases. A distributed database is a database in which portions of the database are stored in multiple physical locations and processing is distributed among multiple database nodes. It would be interesting to consider the development of distributed databases, their characteristics and components, why these types of databases have become so popular as well as to hypothesize the future of the distributed database and its applications." I also need a sentence outline if you wanted to help with that as well, but help with the sources would be amazing in and of itself.

Distributed databases which is also known as multitenannt databases are now most popular and are largely installed on several application servers. A distributed database means installing databse on servers that are placed in one location or they may be placed in different locations which are connected through network.

1. A server is a computer system that provides a service over a network. One of these services is data storage.

2.As databases get larger, it becomes increasingly difficult to keep the entire database in a single physical location. Not only does storage capacity become an issue, there are also security and performance considerations.

3. Having all the data to the central server always takes user to connect multiple connections to reach out to the database. To avoid this multiple databases which are interrelated are used to avoid this.

Chracterstics of Distributed DBMS

1. Multiple computer networksites are connected by a communication system.

2.Data at anysite is available to users at other sites

3. Data at ecah site is under control of Database Management System

4.A distributed database system is network connected file system.

5.A distributed database incorporates transaction processing, but it is not synonymous with a transaction processing system.

Components of Distributed Databases:

1.A distributed system consists of components (i.e., computers) that are autonomous.Autonomous components need to collaborate.

2. It consists of Global data directory, Data communication Component, Local DBMS component

Having all these features Distributed data base systems are incresaing their popularity as database running across multiple processors and disks designed to execute operations in parallel which increases the perfomance scalabilty and reliability.
