Explanation / Answer

1. We can use the key combination Alt+TAB in windows 7 for switching between running programs.

In windows 8, 8.1 and 10, the same key combination is the fastest way for most people. However there are new features called workspaces. So they can be used to switch between apps also.

------

2. The start menu provides a list of the installed programs. It provides list of both user installed and system installed programs. Whether to create a startup entry or not is upto the program's discretion. We can later put up shortcuts in the start menu too.

------

3. We use the right click functionality of the mouse to open a shortcut menu.

-----

4. Proper procedure is to go to Start menu, select shutdown or power and then click on shutdown button.

-----

5. Click on the start menu, point to Accessories and we can see a list of programs pop up. Click on the one that you want to open.

In Windows 8, 8.1 and 10, go to start menu, look for the app and click on it to open it. The start menu also has search functionality to find the app easily.

------

6. Type the url of the folder in the address bar and press enter to switch to a different location. Drop down button can also be used along with back and forward buttons.

-----

7. Right click on folder, create shortcut and drag and drop it into the start menu for windows 7.

For windows 8, 8.1 and 10, right click an app and select pin to start menu.

-----

8. Closing a window closes it completely. Minimizing just hides it from the view and we can restore it by click on the minimized icon on the taskbar.

-----

9. Maximizing of window is done by clicking on the maximize button that is present on the title bar of the window (usually on the right hand side).

For using the snap feature, click the mouse button on the title bar of a window and hold the mouse button down. Now drag and hit the window on any side of the screen and release the mouse button. The window gets resized and snapped into that side.

-----

10. The arrow indicates that if we keep our mouse pointer on that item, we will be able to see a sub group of items.

If this is helpful, do click on the thumbsup button. Thank you.
