As I am more interested in business process I got interested in ERP and in learning about ERP, I found that SAP is the largest vendor in ERP. I am very much interested in handling SAP software as it has to be customized according to business process. At present, SAP HANA is the emerging technology and I am very much interested in learning this concept as it is in memory database and the concept itself is very innovative. This is my current favourite technology.
There is wide scope in learning HANA as it can be implemented both in technical and functional aspects. Business Warehouse concept can also be included in this. Based on the future requirements HANA would surely bring phenominal change in the performance it has the ability to retrieve the dat within no time. Here are the points abot HANA:
1. SAP HANA is an in-memory data platform that is deployable as an on-premise appliance, or in the cloud. It is a revolutionary platform, which is best suited for performing real-time analytics, and developing and deploying real-time applications.
2. Replacing the responsibility of data maintenance on the traditional systems, it simplifies administrators’ tasks in the digital platforms. The in-memory data support in SAP HANA supports smoother processing of data transactions with fault-tolerance analysis.
3. SAP HANA is a combination of hardware and software, which integrates different components like SAP HANA Database, SAP SLT (System Landscape Transformation) Replication server, SAP HANA Direct Extractor connection and Sybase replication technology.
4. SAP HANA Provides Real-Time Data Provisioning and Realtime Reporting and provide high speeds processing on massive data due to In-Memory Technology.
5. SAP HANA can access various data source including Structured and Un-Structured data from SAP or Non-SAP data source. It's database and application can be deployed to the Cloud environment.
6. Earlier SUSE Linux Enterprise Server x86-64 (SLES) 11 SP1 was the only Operating System supported by SAP HANA.From SPS08, Red Hat Enterprise Linux is also supported.
7. SAP HANA create a memory pool for managing and tracking the consumption of memory. The memory pool is used to store all the in-memory data and system tables, thread stack, temporary computations and all other data structure required for managing the database.
8. Using BW powered by SAP HANA, you can find the following benefits: Excellent performance in analytical reporting and data loading using HANA in memory database capabilities. All BW functions performed in SAP HANA benefits from in-memory database and calculation engines for faster data processing.
With these phenominal features SAP HANA would emerge as the most happening database in cloud platform.
