Technical Support Engineer need qualification of any field Software engineer, Information Technology, knowledge of the operating systems(ex. Windows, Linux, Mac) and technologies, communication skill is really important. According to my experience to get this position if you have three above criteria you will be well and good to go. They just see the knowledge about the technologies and communication acsent etiquette while they are hiring. In training they will teach you to how to get better. Firstly in training they work on your communication skill. After that they teach about troubleshooting and handeling queries related to desktop, server, networking domain, Internet. After training they are assigned to work. The support can be through via mail, phone, chat, web , interactive response. This job is interesting beacause the interation with people (customer), just you need to be calmdown and take their queries and resolve them.
