We all make mistakes. Please give me a specificexample of a time in your work experience (or education) where you made a mistake in some way. What did you learn from it? Tell me a time you applied feedback to alter your performance? How are you measuring the success of your performance based on what you applied?Explanation / Answer
I work as a SAP BAIS Consultant in one of the major MNC Company.
My role is to Install SAP System, Configuration, Upgrades, Support and Maintance.
In one of my client project we did a major mistake which was impatched the production of company.
In that project, My role is to upgrade SAP system from older version to new version. First we need to upgrade development system followed by testing system. When doing upgrades to development and testing system we will get all type of issues. So when we do in production we can easy apply solution for them. To apply solutions for issues we will create transport request in development server and forward it to testing server. Once testing is successfully completed we will move it to production server. We need to move it to production server on non-working days i.e on Sunday. But I forgoted to do it on doing on Sunday. But these solution are need to forward to production before system upgrade. So I applied these changes in Monday where full production operation were perform. When I applied We got full of dumps i.e issues. No end user are able to perform their work. It was impacted production and huge loss to my client.
What I learned was I need figure out what are transport request need to move to production on sunday. So from next time I made a list of Transport requests on Friday and applied them on Sunday.
It helped me to not to do same mistake again and improved my performance too.
I used to know the indepth knoweldge of every topic that will help me to improve my performance.
I measure my success based on my client and my manager appriciations.
