2) The following command Specifies frequency of CDP update.
Router(config)# cdp timer seconds.

As per question we need frequency of CDP updates for every 3 minutes
Then,
Router(config)# cdp timer 180.

3)CDP runs over the data link layer.Because of this two systems which supports different network-layers can know about each other.

4)We know that CDP is a layer 2 protocol and it will pass between two switches.It only shows the IP addfress of the switch in the CDP packet but it doesn't mean we can ping it.
