When people are driving in cars, they tend to de-humanize other drivers and don’t view them as people who are operating these vehicles. Vehicles present a physical barrier that deprive us of human interaction and therefore, we are more comfortable at lashing out without seeing the other person’s emotions or knowing what the other person is going through.

For instance, while walking through the hallway you could see if someone is upset based on their mannerisms, appearance, etc., while in a vehicle you don’t know what they are thinking or feeling. I don’t have all the information when I’m driving- is the person who cut me off lost? Are they new to driving?

However, if someone cuts me off the hallway, and maybe they appear to be lost in the school, I will be less likely to be upset.

Besides barriers, driving in a vehicle heightens a person’s sense of awareness when at high speeds. You’re more on edge, because the risk of a collision is greater. You’re more likely to snap, lose control, or lash out due to this heightened state.

The negative consequences of road rage activities (such as, swearing and offensive hand gestures) are also much lower, because you’re protected in your vehicle. If I were to perform the same gestures face to face, the risk of getting into a fight is much greater.

Interacting with other motorists in their own vehicles is similar to written correspondence- not all the information is given, you can’t pick up on non-verbal cues, and things can be taken out of context. Compared to communicating in person, written correspondence could also be seen as a barrier that separates us from human emotion that some conversations and messages require.

Communication plays an important role into our life. It can be utilized to share our thoughts , ideas , feelings and emotions while directly or indirectly interacting to other persons or party. In road side driving, an interesting fact about communication can be understand or observed.Vehicles present a physical barrier while driving a car . As people fail to understand the emotions of other due to unsound gestures.

Govt should make sanctions not to use of such type of attitude and behavior while making journey through any vechicle but a person should be more mature that not to getting involved in such communication. Ignoring such actions will be best startegy by an individual . Any thing which prevent us from normal behavior can be categorized as barrier to communication in daily life.
