8. Mixed methods study :-

Mixed methods study is a research done by combining both qualititive and quantitative data. This type of research is mainly done with closed-ended and open-ended data.

Example :-

A researcher may asks an intervewee that -

i) Do you have any technical skills? Yes/No.

If yes, then what are the skills that you want to describe ???

The first half of the question is quantitative part and second part is qualititive research.

9. a) Telephonic surveys.

When a researcher asks a set of questions by telephone it is considered as telephonic surveys. It is one of the common ways of collecting data and the questionnaire is structured in nature.

b) Test-Retest method.

In this method, a researcher records the responses of a respondent and again does the test overtime. Then the researcher compares the two tests to check the consistency of the respondent.

c) Unstructured interviews :-

In this type of interview, the researcher asks some free flowing questions which focuses on their personal strengths, opinions, qualities, thinking etc.

d) Crime mapping.

This is a type of social research where researchers are able to visualize location, patterns of crime, distance etc.
