Apple and Salesforce.com are entering a partnership in which Apple will help Salesforce build the it’s features such as its Siri voice assistant deeper into Salesforce’s own mobile apps, which are widely used in the sales and marketing industries.

This is in keeping with the trend of collaboration that we have been seeing in the recent years in the world of business. This has been fuelled to a great extent by the advancements in technology, changing demographics, ever reducing cost of internet access. Consequently, doing business in becoming more and more complex. This is paradoxical because technology is supposed to simplify the world, isn't it? The primary motivation of all these partnerships is to develop new digital capabilities that serve the new age, tech savvy customer. Due to the hyper competitive business environment, companies are finding it difficult to go it alone.

So digital partnerships are more about data. With more and more data being generated, companies are seeking the best way to make sense of the analytics, which then allows them to interact more effectively with customers to drive better business outcomes.
