Nowadays, most of the systems are being used and data is stored using cloud computing methodologies and technology. Cloud storage is a data storage mechanism or technology where the digital data is stored in logical pools which are in turn stored in physical data servers. We can now move business data for the systems to allow the customers to retrieve their electronic documents over the Internet using cloud. This will surely increase the product or application quality. The pros and cons of using te cloud servers for storing data are:
Disaster recovery is improved in the cloud storage systems as data is always available to the customer and they can retrieve the data at any time of the day. Data backup is also done automatically.
The collaboration and flexibility of data is also there in cloud storage. Real time updates can be shared in real time with the customers, which maybe synced across devices.
Cloud computing is also pocket friendly as we do not have to maintain physical servers in our company and we can buy as much as we need.
A client-server relationship is one in which there is a service provided by a server which is enjoyed by the client. Thus the client receives the service, and the server provides the service.
A mainframe is a high speed computer which generally supports numerous workstations or peripherals. Mainframe ensures greater availability and more security than a smaller and weaker machine. Mainframe is needed for mainly enterprise large scale applications.
The cons are:
Internet Connectivity and Bandwidth is necessary both on the customer's side and the company's side to provide smooth performance on the cloud storage services and applications.
Security is another issue when you want to store all the data online in the cloud. Thus security concerns are there when you use the private and personal information of the customers and store the data of the company by using the services of the cloud.
I think the pros of cloud services outrun the cons at this point of time. The whole world is moving towards cloud and online storage and thus finding a reliable cloud service provider would be good and we can go ahead with that. Thus we can fund the cloud project here to allow customers to retrieve their electronic documents over the Internet (Cloud).
