Question

What are your opinons on this?

The passing of Steve Jobs, co-founder of Apple Computer Inc. and several other high-tech companies, in October 2011 reminded us that computers have become an integral part of our everyday life, and may are wondering what technologies will be next. Will Apple come up with a personal decision support device (iThink comes to mind as a potential name), will GE implement the "Kitchen Area Network" to make our personal lives easier, or will Sony come up with a "MediaStation 5" that serves as a central media hub for books, music, movies, etc. in your home or business? Who ever thought that at one point we would be satisfied with the small screens of smartphones around which the personal and professional lives of many of us are currently focused?

What examples of information technology do you think will become "the next big thing"? Articulate what the benefits and disadvantages of such technology may be to individuals, organizations and society as a whole. If possible, include URLs of sources that describe the technology and its uses. After posting your own ideas, evaluate the postings of your classmates and support or refute their arguments with your educated opinion and, ideally, some evidence you find as you further research some of the technologies presented.
