Question
TO: YOU AS CISO
FROM: Michael Davenport, Director of Software Engineering
SUBJECT: “Software Assurance” process
I heard from out software engineers that you are implementing some new “software assurance” process for our developers. Can you better explain this and justify costs? Why do we even need to do this if it is going to cost us more money (and time)? I need clear answers before my engineering staff can proceed with any changes to our processes. Senior management is not going to be appreciative of the added costs and time needed to complete projects.
Explanation / Answer
Purpose and need for the software assurance:
It ensures us the software used by the developers and coders are completely free from the software vulnerabilities and malware attacks.
It ensures the security for our source code.
It also helps in planning and training.
It helps in deploying, managing and use of Microsoft products very effectively.
It comes with technical and end user training.
Cost management:
It costs 200 dollars for windows 7 professional, and it comes with a complete coverage.
If the above solution is helpful to you in any way please rate it Or if you have any concerns please comment it, I will help you through
Rework:
You can explain about the purpose and need and its pros that I referred above to the senior manager. like those features will give more benefit than the cost and time we are spending for it.
