Explanation / Answer
Answer:
The "Issue" of Stakeholder Management and Corporate Performance. Sociologist Erving Goffman has pointed out that all social groups, including professionals, develop a protective attitude toward members of their group even when what some of the members do is seen as morally wrong. A sense of loyalty to the group often overrides what they would otherwise immoral.
For Arguments:
We do agree with these arguments for exposing Stakeholders with whom we are personally close or with whom we have close professional ties. The connection in social group develops the emotional attachment with the group people and we generally support people of our group, because ewe have developed a sense of relationship over the time as we have been engaged in the group for longer duration. This social relationship and emotional attachment drive us in support of our group member when he is wrong. This is true and we do agree with this outcome. Stakeholders do support people of their interaction or available in their social groups. So we need to be careful when we are considering the inputs from stakeholder and we need to review the attachment of stakeholder with the employee member.
Against Arguments: This is not always thru that all the stakeholders will support to their group members when groups members are wrong in the organization. There are many stakeholder people who are very strict with their rules and they do support based on the understanding of the act and its environment only. They do not get affected with their relationship or emotional attachment with social groups.
Guideline: We as a stakeholder, we need to act based on the facts and reality and we should not be biased with our interaction and relationship with the employees. We need to be ideal in our behavior and should make the right judgment based on facts and evidences.
