Please respond to this discussion post by answering the following question above.
.
The Antagonist in the story is the son of the king of sharks, named Nanave. The protagonist is the Chief of the village. The story lets me know that Nanave, the son of the king of sharks is the antagonist because he is the second most significant character that has opposing views with the protagonist. Nanave is not good but he is not necessarily bad either. The chief is the hero of the story, so that makes him the protagonist. As he “The Chief” makes Nanvane leave so the people of the village will not go hungry any longer. A good thought out plot with good characters can make it hard for a reader to distinguish from an antagonist and a protagonist. The chief of the village is the protagonist because the story is most closely related to the people of the village and the chief is the hero. The chief chases off Nanave so they can fish and the people of the village will not go hungry any longer. The author provides the readers with characters that are very well described. He describes their social qualities. He distinguishes the characters by people, god, and the chief. The author also describes character development with the main characters. They way the characters transform over time. The author uses many visual cues such as the mark of a shark on Nanave, as well as the feathered cape the king and his son wore. The way the characters resolved conflict also helped to prove which character was the antagonist and which character was the protagonist.
Explanation / Answer
Antagonist and Protagonist are the terms describe very clearly and openly but to identify individuals under this category is not very easy. A person may not have good intention, but their actions define their work. Therefore, identification in this category is difficult.
Referring to the article given, Chief is responsible to common man, so his actions are stated in favour of them as he has to take care of them. On the other hand, his son, followed by the age gap being young has his own mindset to certain things and therefore may or may not agree.
Giving my reviews on this basis, when it comes to duties and responsibility of the nation, chief is Protagonist and son is Antagonist. But if new thoughts considering the new generation takes place, there may be the time he actions, and innovative ideas would be needed by the them.
Life is uncertain and like a roller coaster ride. We don’t know the destination we are going. Human are subjective and different from each other. Hence loads of confusion exists. People judge and interpret the things in a way they understand and how their upbringing ours. There is nothing wrong or right but just difference of opinion.
