I would like to describe the work report that needs to be completed on a regular basis in my workplace. I worked in a multinational publishing company. The job role is “Journal Manager” which required monitoring and supervising the entire production process of the journals from the author submissions on the Editorial platforms to the Production platform. The work report is to maintain a log of production schedule for the 11 different journals. Each journal was unique and had different schedules and editorial and production workflows. It is pertinent that none of the issues should be skipped without publishing. It is the journal requirement that the journal issues are published as scheduled by the society (such as Japanese, European, Asian, etc), Editors and the Publishers.

A visual presentation shows the progress of the journal publication. I would use the progress in chart. The trend can be depicted in the chart. The trend shows if there was any dip in the graph. In other words, was any journal issue was not published. This report can also be used to assess the journal performance of the Journal Managers.

Personally speaking, visual presentation enhances its effectiveness of communication. Mainly because visual presentations retain in the mind of the viewers more than any oral communication. It is also easy to understand due to its simplicity. It is also flexible as it enhances cross-cultural communication. Visual presentations also increase the audience interest and act as reminders as it uses graphs, pictures, drawings, diagrams, charts, etc.
