Explanation / Answer

Ans:

A project is a planned set of activities to be carried out over a fixed period of time under a pre-defined budget. A project is a temporary activity with a defined beginning and end with limited scope and resources.

The day-to-day set of operations of an organisation are not considered a project as it has a pre-defined end whereas operations of the organisation are carried out until the organisation exists.

As a future CEO, it's important to define the difference between a project and organisation day-to-day operations as the requirement for resources and budget are different for both of them. Project management involves more focused approach because of the time and budget constraints while the operations of an organisation need more long-term planning.

In my professional life, the internship I was involved with, was a project. It fulfiled all the requirements to be a project such as it was for two months(time constraint) and I had a fixed salary (budget constraint). Also, I had limited access to the resources of that company as I wasn't a permanent employee.
