The conflict situation am trying to tackle today is as follows :
I am a manager and I have, I have 2 assistants below me, we are to work together as team for a really important project, and both of them aren't will to do it....since they have ego clashes and are never on the same page, now I as a manager have to get their conflict resolved and make them work as a team.
C - clarify the issue.
First of all I would really get to the root cause or from where the issue between them arised, by getting both of them to talk to each other.
A - Address the issue
Once they start talking, I will try to gain clarity on excalty what are the various patterns or problems which are causing them to behave in this way and adderad the basic point of conflict.
L - listen to the other side:
Since we are in the discussion, both the sides will put up their point of views about the problem they have, and equal opportunity to let their issues out, though this we will be able to get some mid way out.
M- manage your way to resolution.
I order to manage the situation it is important that both the employees are on the same page, since talking with each other has paved that out for a mid-way, there will be way to the resolution.
Strom or stress is the level which comes on the employees if there are alot of work perssure, no time to relax, may be tagets not achieved, deadlines missed etc. Due to these issues the employees start draining mentally and physically, which inturn affects work and interpersonal relationships. The best way to tackle such situation is to understand what is the issue and motivate the team may be by giving them the leverage they deserve. In this case I would may be give both of them their equal set of responsibilities so they do not come in each others way much.
