What skills do you think are most important for a project manager to develop in order to be successful at his or her job (list at least 5)? Compare and contrast the skills you have defined as necessary to be a good project manager with those that you possess. Briefly describe how might create a personalized development plan to take you from your current skills to those that are most important for successful project management? Finally, how do you feel an organization’s culture can affect the success of the PM and the project team?

Question 1:

I think the following are the most important skills the project manager should develop in order to be successful:

1. Self Confidence: A high confidence level which a leader exhibit in what ever they say is a very important trait, because the leaders should first develop confidence on creating opportunity to complete the project. Only that helps the other team members to be confident to work on with the leader.

2. Honesty and Integrity: Any leader should act as a role model where the whole team need to trust the leader, so that the honesty and integrity skills plays a major role for the leaders on being honesty and not involving on illegal activities.

3. Intelligence: The leader should posses the skill on intelligent, as where the leader should be strong in logical reasoning, analytical reasoning, technical skills etc in order to guide their team toward success.

4. Job Relevant Knowledge: This is also an important skill for the leader where the leader has to know about the organization they work for, the role that has been assigned and what is expected out of them by the organization.

5. Extroversion: The leader has to posses an extroversion skill as where the leaders can exhibits their interpersonal skills than being full of his own self.

The following is compared and contrast with the skill of mine and a good project manager:

I always posses a good body language and a charisma leadership skills along with my increased self confidence skills.

The following development plan can be taken by the skill I posses on to create successful project management:

1. To be a head of competition in the market through the skills.

2. To build a good brand image for the organization I work for.

3. To influence customer, stakeholders and employees within organization.

4. To lead organization and team successfully.

The organization culture will affect the success of the project manager and project team as explained below:

1. Culture can be defined as a set of behaviour, values, morals etc set by the management and followed by the employees.

2. When the employees fails to follow on the set rule that might affect on the success of the project.

3. The change in the culture will not be easily adaptable by the employees so that affect on the success of the project.

4. The culture will directly impact to the business process when the employees fails to follow on the ethical standard of work and that affects on the success of the projects.
