Topic: MIS Infrastructure and Environment statbility by Functional sub system and Management activities.
MIS is the federation of Information systems that are designed the functional subsystems of the organisations. Each subsystems reqires applications to perform all activities based on data base , model base, computer programs etc.within each functional subsystem. there will be application for transactions processing, Operations control., managerial Control and strategic planning.
In Marketing Subsystem: the Strategic planning involves new markets,customer analysis, competitor analysis, consumer survey information. In managerial control , involves data on custoers , sales forse requirements and in Operations, it includes Hiring and training of sales forse, volume etc.
In Production subsystem; In transactional processing involves production cost,scrap , finished part tickets. in In management control overall planned and standard perdformances, in strategic control, includes alternative manufacturing approaches .
in logistic subsystem: in Operational control,it uses information contained in reports sucha s past due purchase, shipments to customers, out of stock etc. in Transactions, it includes purchase requisitions, orders, manufacturing orders, receiving reports etc, in strategic planning involves new distribution channels, new policies with regard to vendors .
In Information Processing Subsystem: Operational control of Information processing operations requires information on daily schedule of jobs, error ratesand equipment failures etc. in Managerial Control,it requires data on planned versus actual utilisation, cost , overal performance etc.
