Question 2 Assume you are human resource manager of a technical college operating in a major city centre in the South Pacific. Your college administrator tells you that students have begun complaining about the quality of teaching and lesson delivery at the premises. Currently, teacher training comprises of senior teachers and heads of departments showing trainees and new graduates how to teach quality of teaching and lesson delivery at your college. With relevant examples discuss the steps you should take in planning your training program for your new teaching graduates.

Explanation / Answer

This is an issue that needs to be handled with care or it may turn out to be a serious one and effect the learning aspect in the process as well and that too quite an extent. The grievance and consent of students are regarding the level and quality of teaching that they believe is not up to the standard and this is having a negative impact on the students and their way of learning.

As the human resource manager I would like to turn the focus of affairs into the way of teaching and training the teaching staff as well. Currently the senior teachers are responsible for teaching the fresh and new joinees who graduated recently from college and as this is not helping we need to restructure the process and in order to incorporate more professionalism may also get connected with a school providing training for teachers. This will incorporate a sense of professionalism into the teachers and even the senior teachers may have a round of training as well which will help them learn better way to teach because knowledge is not an issue instead the way to teach can be made better.

As the human resource manager I would like to make the process better and instill a sense of professionalism.so that instead of complaining they are satisfied and this is possible when the teachers apply what they learnt into their teaching. If we consider that technically the teachers are sound and having issues in the way yo teach then it can be taken care of by such activities and made better to a great extent as well.
