There are five stages of the consumer purchase decision process including identification of the need/problem, searching for information, evaluation the available alternatives, purchase, and post-purchase stage.

In my opinion, the second stage of consumer purchase decision i.e. “searching for information” is addressed in this advertisement. Here, the consumer looks for the various options available for them to address the problem. The customers identify the various options available to them and further do internal and external information search to know more about the product.

Most of the parents face the problem of making their children eat vegetables. The ad provides an alternative to them of using French fries to bribe their children so that they would eat vegetables. Here, they are providing an alternative solution to the parents for their problem. Hence, it is concluded that the “information search” stage of consumer decision process is addressed in this case.
