Address the following questions and concepts:
1) Based on the principle of path-goal theory, evaluate the actions of the two coaches, and then provide an analysis of how they have (or have not) integrated the key considerations of this theoretical perspective into their leadership styles.
2) According to your text, research on leader-member exchange (LMX) theory has shown that LMX is correlated with subordinate energy and creativity at work, and that LMX, moderated by empowerment, would affect job satisfaction, turnover, job performance and organization citizenship behavior. Is there any evidence of LMX or the results of the above research in the two case studies?
3) Conclude your paper by summarizing the dominant trait, power bases, and leadership styles of both coaches, and adopting a position on whom you think was a more effective leader and why. Be sure to indicate what you have learned from the cases and how this knowledge would make you a better leader.

A Case Study Analysis Paper : A Tale of Two Coaches
Coaching, when referring to getting coached by a professional coach, is a teaching, training or development process in which an individual gets support while learning to achieve a specific personal or professional result or goal. Comparison of leadership and management will also be discussed.

One who views leadership as a process, views it as a transactional event that occurs between the leader and the follower as the leader affects and is affected by followers. The trait perspective of leadership suggest that individuals have inborn characteristics that separate them from non-leaders . Coach Mike Krzyzewski and Coach Knight, although having very different leadership styles, both have had very successful careers as basketball coaches.
The path-goal theory is all about the way in which theleaders support their followers in achieving their goals by removing obstacles, clarifying expectations, and making the work more satisfying and rewarding. Leaders who adapt their style to the situation or the motivational needs of the follower can produce more successful outcomes. The key considerations of this theoretical perspective will be analyzed in the leadership styles of two coaches, Coach Bobby Knight, and Coach Mike Krzyzewski. Coach Knight and Coach K. have similar follower directives; i.e., do not do anything that could be damaging to yourself or the program. Apart from the above mentioned rule, the coaches usually display dissimilar leadership approaches of motivating their players.
Coach Knight always wants his players to win and he displays one leadership style, directive. He is called,
