Explanation / Answer
Answer:
ERP– Enterprise Resource Planning is a software tool used by the organization in meeting their in-house management of resources in such a way that they can meet the demand of the customers based on plant production and operations. This ERP software automation tool is IT based tool helps in managing all the plant based resources of the organization and drive in synergy for running the plant operations to achieve the customer demands. This creates a lot of benefit in the effective management of the business requirements at the plant level. Currently this is the only tool generally used for managing the plant material operations in any organization.
Developing a Request For ERP Proposal (RFP) –
We need to work out the requirement of ERP in an organization. For this we need to understand the plant operation and the problems being faced in the organization due to executing the plant normal operation. The resources needed for the plant operation are the key input for the ERP requirements. Thus we need to understand all the resources being used in the organization for executing the plant operations. This we need to compare with the output we are getting from he completion of the planning by at the plant. So in a RFP request for proposal, we need to show the comparison of the resources and energy currently being used at the plant for executing the plant operation with the reduction in the resources and energy by using the ERP at the plant. We need to clearly explain the reason for need of the ERP and the expenses required to get the ERP and potential benefits expected from the ERP.
What are the top three acquisition risks that you foresee? Why did you pick these three? What would you do to avoid or minimize them?
Following are the top three risks as below
We pick these three as these are the top three issues in introducing the ERP at the plant. The project leader needs to develop the solution for these issues in the project management plan for the ERP proposal. In order to avoid or minimize them, we need to have proper action plan for managing these potential issues in ERP introduction at the plant.
What are the top three benefits you expect to accrue from implementing an ERP solution? How would you check during and after the project to determine whether you gained those benefits?
Top three benefits from ERP are as below
We can develop the project tracker, for monitoring the benefits achieved by the project. These benefits can be monitored during the run of the ERP in the organization. Thus we can assess whether we are getting the desired benefits by using the ERP or not.
