Explanation / Answer
In this current scenario where more emphasis is given on the ecofriendly and biodegradable products, it is very interesting to come across the packed vegetables and fruits in bananna fibre bags. The vegetables, fruits and mushrooms were neatly sliced as to ready to use and stuffed in bags made of plantain fibres instead of plastic covers. The bags or packets of this fibre are sourced from Asian countries were bananna trees are cut down after harvesting bananna and soaked for couple of days. When they start decaying they are taken out and seprerates as fibres manually. These fibres are given certain treatment and colours are added to it nd woven in to long sheets. These sheets are cut and sewn in to bags of different shapes and sizes. As these process are carried out by the small scale industies it is very cost effective and indirectly encouraging the underprivilaged.
The most interesting factor about this product is that we can reuse these bags for shopping other stuffs too once we use the vegetables inside. The bags comes with a handle which makes it easier to carry and in a variety of colours . One side of the bag is tranparent which is to help the customer to have a look on the stuff inside. As the bags are made of natural fibres it is highly ecofriendly and sustainable.
As mentioned the bag is made of natural fibres and there is no risk to the environment, they better can avoid the colour to the bags. It may be attractive if the bag comes in vibrant colours but still when we move to an ecofriendly concept using artifical colours may be a minus to it. Kids may lick the bag and there may be riks of infection.
The packaging of the bags are such that we can reuse it for carrying our other stufffs. We donot have to look for other bags for storage. And people who are concious about the environment will defenitely be motivated to buy materials coming in this package. It will be appreciated if the packaging concet in natural fibres is tried on other groceries too. This would help to replace plastics to a very large extend.Marketing the importance of these types of bags would motivate people to buy it. May be some percentage of people are not aware of the good they can do to the society if they use these type of products. Strong marketing is suggested for the increase in sales of the product.
