Question
Draft your resume and cover letter.
Following are several guidelines to keep in mind when writing a cover letter.
1.The cover letter should be tailored to the job, the organization, and to the
person to whom you are sending your resume. A COVER LETTER SHOULD
NEVER BE MASS PRODUCED OR DUPLICATED.
2.Include how you found out about the position.
3.Build a strong connection between yourself and the position for which you
are applying. Point out skills, talents, accomplishments, and special training
you have which the position requires.
4.End your letter with a request for an interview.
First Paragraph
In your initial paragraph, state the reason for the letter, name the specific
position or type of work for which you are applying, and indicate from which
resource (Wildcat Career Network, news media, friend, employment service) you
learned of the opening.
Second Paragraph
Indicate why you are interested in the position, the company, its products or
services- above all, what you can do for the employer. If you are a recent graduate,
explain how your academic background makes you a qualified candidate for the position.
If you have some practical work experience, point out your specific achievements or
unique qualifications. Try not to repeat the same information the reader will find in the
resume.
Third Paragraph
In the closing paragraph, indicate your desire for a personal interview and your
flexibility as to the time and place. Repeat your phone number in the letter and offer any
assistance to help in a speedy response. Finally, close your letter with a statement or
question that will encourage a response. For example, state that you will be in the city
where the company is located on a certain date and would like to set up an interview. Or,
ask if the company will be recruiting in your area, or if it desires additional information or references.

have that relate to the job for which you are applying. Be
sure to make this in a confident manner and remember that
the reader will view your letter of application as an example of your writing skills.
Closing Paragraph: You may refer the reader to your enclosed
