Example 1

Surface level diversity

It refers to the attributes which are visible in person just by have look at it. Like age,race , gender, ethinicity etc

And in given example talks about the appearance of football players which shows their surface attributes like height thus this example falls under the surface level diversity.

Example 2

Deep level diversity

The second example speaks about the difference of opinion in two partners on how to work upon a project so this falls under deep level diversity which includes the attributes that are deep inside the mind or in thoughts like personality , work preferences etc
