Please provide short answers for the next three questions. (two points each) Two RNA molecules were isolated from a eukaryotic cell and their sequence was determined, and regions of the RNA molecules were numbered as shown below. A A A me 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 The investigators were able to find this following DNA that had been the template for the RNA molecules: 5 6 7 8. DNA Why does transcript I have a different sequence than the DNA sequence? here in the cell was transcript i2 when it was isolated from the cell? How do you know? ut clear Q: What specific kind of transcripts are both a and 2?

Explanation / Answer

a. whydoes transcript 1 have a diffrent seqeunce than dna sequence ?

the transcripit   is the matured mRNA transcripit , formed after splicing of precursor m RNA molecule   so it has different DNA sequence

2. where in the cell was transcripit 2 when it was isolated from the cell ? how do you know?

transcript 2 , it is present in the the nucleus , because it has the addtion of 5,6 regions , 2 segment    these are introns which are removed by the spliceosome to produce primary transcript , so in primary transcript it dont have any of these regions

3.what specific kind of transcripits are 1 and 2?

trnascript 1 is matured m RNA

transcripit 2 is precurssor m RNA
