Explanation / Answer
since in the procedure when we are to synthesize isopropyl formate , it has boiling point of 67 0C which is lower than both the reactants isopropyl alcohol(82 0C) and formic acid (1000C).
thus we can synthesize it by same method . as whrn the temperature is inceased to distill out ester , it would come first , thus separation is possible
while in the case of the n-butyl formate , boiliing point of formic acid is lower than n butyl formate (106 0C) , when we heat the mixture for fater reaction and separation later , formic acid would come out and the reaction will not be economical as the formic acid may escape. when the tenp reaches 100 0C
2)
thus we can clearly see when concentration of alcohol was increased the conversion of acid to ester incresed
3)
we don't need a mineral acid necause cl- is itself a good leaving group thus , mineral acid is not required , rather it's formed the reactio itself!
