Question

D | Question 18 10 pts Your facility has merged with another, and as a department manager you must travel between two locations several miles apart. Not all management positions at both facilities were subject to combination, so although the staff at the two locations have you as their single manager, you have two bosses, one at each facility. To complicate matters, your bosses behave as though they are each the "biggest boss" each with priority in demanding your attention and responsiveness. How are you going to handle your situation? An appropriate response should include some of the following: 1. Communication is critical in any split-reporting arrangement, and if the two bosses do not keep each other advised it is in your best interest to keep them both advised. 2. When an assignment is received from one boss, notify the other with your best estimates of the time and effort it will require. 3. Take on the responsibility for keeping each manager aware of the demands on you from the other. 4. Attempt to secure a joint meeting to include yourself and both managers. 5. You may naturally lean toward one manager over the other, but make every effort to avoid visibly favoring one over the other 6. Accept the fact that if the two managers will not meet each other halfway in demanding your services, the arrangement will ultimately fail.
