I would support the various debates and controversies that are concerned with growing green or surrounding going green. The desire to go green would, therefore, mean to reduce or eliminate the negative impact of the business activities on the entire society and the planet. Going green will also mean organization transformational changes are required on the business activities of the entire community.
The businesses have the responsibility to protect the plant. In recent years, there have been greater efforts by the executives declaring their desire to go green; that is to eliminate the negative impacts of their business activities. Some are committed to meet the needs of the shareholders, employees, the customers, and the larger global community. These executives are keen on the processes their organization uses to develop, manufacture, distribute and probably even recycle their products or goods. The executives are seeking to develop products and services in particular ways that are well suited with what is being termed as sustainability. For such businesses, many questions are asked, i.e. how to reduce waste and how to produce more efficiently.
A triple bottom line is an approach or a method used to define the performance of the businesses that takes into consideration social, economic and ecological dimension and assumes that these dimensions are mutually reinforcing. The principle of triple bottom line attracts much controversy. There are some critics that suggest that although this notion is sound in principle, there is the ability of the business to balance the people, the society, and the profit realized. It is relevant to step towards bringing into line a proper business with sustainable concerns. Profitability is easy to measure as compared to other two components. Many companies begin their effort to sustainability by focusing on the relatively easy way of reducing energy consumption and waste products as a way of saving money. Financial performance, on the other hand, outweighs other outcomes.
