1- HCL Technologies Ltd. is one of the biggest company growing in Indian IT market. It was originated in 1976. HCL has been a leading company in introducing new technologies and innovations. HCL has been the top employer in the UK for around more than 12 consecutive years. There are more than 120,000 employees working for HCL. It is led by Shiv Nadar and was started by 6 engineers as a company that would make personal computers. HCL operates in 34 countries.

2-The central philosophy of HCL is 'Employee first, Customer second'. In HCL, they follow Clan Culture. There is a great involvement of people in the improvement of the system. The organization is held by loyalty and tradition. Their principle for success is to address the needs of the client and care for people.

HCL involves Democratic Leadership style, where people are involved in making decisions. Authority is delegated to subordinates and the democratic leader holds the final responsibility. By following democratic leadership, people also got authority to take part in decision making.

3- One of the major issue that was related to people was about their pay scale. Most of the employees believe that their pay structure is not as per the work requirement. Their juniors might be earning more than them. Second one is the retirement age, which is 55. It causes slow growth and retirement at an early age. Appraisals are not very common. People believe that appraisals should happen annually.  

These problems can be resolved if the company will pay some attention to the needs of emplooyees bu conducting various employee surveys, exit interviews to understand the problems employees are facing. The retirement age should be increased to 60 years as it is in government organisations. The management should also pay attention to the annual appraisals for employees.

4-Keeping the current culture in mind, the organisation should follow the below steps to enhance the overall effectiveness of the organisation:

1-Motivation: This is one of the most important factor to ensure productivity. Unmotivated employees can never feel enthusiastic about the tasks they are supposed to do. Motivated employees are an asset to the company. Company should take some steps like rewards, appraisals, challenges, etc.

2-Set Goals and provide feedback: Employees will be able to work in right direction if they know what is their goal. Management should set goals for them and provide feedbacks if they go wrong somewhere.

3-Communicate efficiently and effectively: Communication is the most important part in business operations. Without effective communication, it would be difficult for the employees to achieve their goals.
