Individually, you will be creating a customer service strategy aimed at building and sustaining customer loyalty for your chosen company. You have been hand selected by the CEO to propose a customer service strategy to the Board of Directors for your organization in an effort to convince them that they should adopt your strategy. Your company has been struggling to attract and retain customers. You believe this is due to the lack of focus on customer service.

Explanation / Answer

The name of the company is Abigail Motors (fictional name). The Abigail Motors is showing poor performance for the past two years and its revenues and net profit are declining year-on-year basis. The Abigail Motors has lost its focus on Customer Service and they have failed to cope up with the present requirements and expectations of the public from Motor Vehicle Industry. Further, they have been unable to cater to the customer demands and satisfaction in recent years. They have lost focus on customer service and failed to attract and retain customers in this period as they have failed to launch new and attractive future and feasible motor vehicles.

Abigail Motors was formed in the year 1968 by a well known Detroit Businessman, Richard Thomas. He had a clear vision of making the motor vehicle available to middle class households at affordable price. The company is maker of four wheeler vehicles in category of cars. They are manufacturers of hatchback type of cars with a brand name "AM". They have recently completed fifty years and launched some new products which include sedan class of cars. They have enjoyed a good share in the market and created a good name and reputation for themselves in these years. The "AM" cars are popular among middle class people as they are cheap and fuel efficient as compared to other cars alongwith solid customer grievance redressal system. Since past few years, the company has lost its focus on their main part of chain i.e. Customers and they were unable to address their problems due to deviation from their earlier successful strategy.

I think the best position for myself in this organization will be Vice-President (Customer Relations). I must be a high ranking professional as I have been handed over work by the CEO, for devising effective strategy to attract and retain customers and present the same before the Board of Directors of the company and convince them to adopt the strategy.
