Introduction

Understanding leadership is not an easy task and everyone cup of tea. There is very thin layer of difference between what a leader is and what are managerial aspects. Both are different in a way leader gets the work move and Manager instruct the work to be done. Therefore, while choosing the leader among this list, I have understood the mark difference and what is supposed to be done.

Your leader’s name

My chosen leader is Mr. Elon Musk, CEO of SpaceX and Tesla motors. He has been recognised among the World’s most powerful People in 2016. The reason of choosing him is the availability and list of articles available online in respect of his achievements and his doings.

Leadership Theory

Must is totally mad for his work. He is rigid and obsessed with everything he does. He is concerned even for a tiny detail of the work. He never compromises even for a smaller issue. He just does the perfect thing or delete whatever does imperfectly, there is no mediocrity in his passage and he believed in high performer. He believes in setting out the bigger vision as setting up of a clear and big vision will eventually bring out the big and best results as he never compromises perfection. He influences the people with his vision and mission and convince them so good that they follow his every move. For example – in Tesla Motors, his response to the doubts of the consumers were so clear and approaching like consumers were scared of fire catching news and he explain that power battery is much safer than normal ordinary fuel-based vehicles. Therefore, he follows the transformational theory of leadership wherein he transforms every idea and every vision in to successful actions and results.

Achievement

Among so many companies he worked in, SpaceX is surely his biggest achievement so far. Because of his being first private spacecraft to land in international space station, NASA has awarded the SpaceX. It also has launches first fuel liquid rocket.

Challenge

As Musk was very shy, he lost the opportunity to work with world top most software engineer company because of its shy nature. He did not heart broken and eventually started a new start up company which used to provide the business information to online seekers. And because of his no failure and try and fail attitude, he successfully established this company Zip2. This trait of being a leader then to work with whatsoever company is somewhat his achievement.

Power Base

Self confidence and the willingness to achieve the perfection are his power base which helped him in every phase of his professional life.

Comparison of Styles

Musk believes in setting of bigger and complex vision and in its implementation. Other’s follows the strategy in merger and ambulation in either same line of business or acquiring the business to bring the innovation.

At last, he is a great leader and entrepreneur. He inspired others and his vision depicts what the country can be in coming years. He has the talent to see in the future and bring the advancement in to presence.
