In a Life Styles Inventory (LSI), a percentile score of 75 and above denotes a High score, between 25 percentile and 75 percentile a Medium score and below 25 percentile a Low score.
As per the above convention, I have scored high on eight of the Life Styles, viz., Approval, Conventional, Dependent, Avoidance, Oppositional, Power, Competitive and Perfectionistic. Further, I have scored very high percentiles (i.e., 99) in four Styles, viz., Avoidance, Oppositional, Power and Competitive. This indicates that I have very strong task orientation with some need for security. Moreover, I have an Aggressive/Defensive Style of leadership. My percentile score in Approval Style is also quite high, indicating that I have a good amount of people orientation along with task orientation. People having these Styles are usually effective and successful according to research conducted by Human Synergistics International. However, I may tend to suffer from lots of anxiety because of my Aggressive/Defensive Style of leadership, which focuses on goal achievement, power attainment and others.
I have scored medium on three Styles, viz., Self-Actualizing, Affiliative and Achievement. This is indicative of the fact that I have reasonable satisfaction needs. Further, it indicates that I possess a Constructive Style of leadership. Moreover, I am also effective and successful (since persons having this leadership style are effective and successful as per the research conducted by Human Synergistics International). I am an Optimistic sort of person because of these Styles.
The only Style where I have scored low is Humanistic-Encouraging. This denotes that I may not be resolving conflicts in a very constructive manner or I am not that much involved in developing others.
