Ans:

In this week’s journal, reflect on what work means to you. What motivates you to succeed? How do you define a productive day?

I look at work as a task to be performed and not always a pleasant one but most of the times a necessary one. It means a job to be done through employment and in my case at home. Work, for me, at home is the necessary tasks that result in desired outcomes. Work also involves any form of activity using physical and mental efforts in order to produce certain outcomes or results. Every day my work at home involves continuous efforts that have to be changed according to the type of work and outcome needed.

The chief motivation for me to succeed is hearing someone say “great job” or “a job well done” to me after I finish a task. I have always been motivated to do my best in all tasks I perform. I am motivated to do my best to set an example for my children and grandchildren. I lacked that example as a child. Motivation can be passed on and it enables individuals to accomplish his or her best. Inner dreams are another form of motivation I possess. I have dreams of being an online instructor which motivated me to obtain two Master degrees and the desire to acquire a PhD. I dream of being the strength an example my family needed to push them forward in life and being the best they can be.

Motivation is important to me and other motivational aspects are incentives, recognition, promotions on the job, vacations, and even self-motivation. I am motivated through the desire of accomplishment and achievement of reaching my desired objectives personally and in the business environment. I am a self-disciplined and self-motivated type of individual who is confident in my ability and my own identity with any given role within a business along with my personal life.

I am productive because I personally challenge myself. A productive day simply to me is a day that everything I needed to accomplish was in fact finished. Achieving desired results is being productive. Productivity is also involving creativity and giving rise to a particular result or outcome.
