Explanation / Answer

1. Quality control monitor the results of the tasks and ensure that the results are expected and within the limits as defined under quality management plan. This is carried out across the project in different phases in order to identify the problems and its impact on the results in different phases. The outcome of the project should be as per the defined requirement and product description which can be defeated if there are aberration in the end product due to poor quality work process. Therefore, Quality control monitor utilizes various tools and techniques like statistical sampling, inspection, cause and effect, run charts, histogram etc. It identifies existing problems and risks along with possible solutions to tackle it.

2. Inspection: it can be defined as the process of scrutinization whether the project meet the specific quality standards in its work process. It determines that if the process used or specification developed are in conformation to the applicable requirement approved by clients.

3. Prevention helps in keeping the errors out of process while inspection focuses on keeping the errors out of the hands of customers. Prevention is the process where one tries to modify the process so that there will be minimum errors in developed product but inspection is the process to check the end product and ensure that errors should not be passed to customer and will be identified during inspection. Cost of preventing mistakes is much less than cost of correcting it. Therefore quality should be planned and designed in the project but not inspected in project deliverables only.

4. Attribute of conformity refers to the characteristics that conform to the specifications. Attribute control chart are used in quality control to find its conformity with the expected specification.
