The Word Ethics is derived from the Greek Word ‘Ethos’ meaning character.
Ethics is the essence of values and habits of a person or group
It distinguish between right and wrong, good and evil and acting with responsibility.
“Ethics are the principles of conduct governing an individual or group”.
“Ethics are relating to what is good or bad, and having to do with moral duty and obligation”.
Distinction between Ethics and Morality
Relates to what is good or bad, moral duties and obligation.

Morality
Moral relates to principles of right and wrong.
“Mos” meaning customs is an attribute of a group of society.
Morals are accepted due to an authority which may be religious or cultural

Absorbed by an individual gradually by taking reasonable decisions in appropriate situations

Morals are typically adopted or absorbed since childhood from family, friends, school, religious, leaders ,etc
