The manager does this through the implementation of the five functions of a manager, planning, organizing, leading, controlling and staffing (the five pillars of management). This week we begin our examination of the four pillars of management with the first function of management: Planning. The planning stage of management is considered to be the most important by most because of the advantages that planning has for achieving goals. In the agile organization, planning has disadvantages as well. discuss the disadvantages to planning. Then, compare and contrast the advantages and disadvantages to the planning function and explain how a manager may use both to their advantage.

Yes its true that the planning plays a key role in the growth of the organization and is a key parameter for the success of the company or the business. Planning is the first step where we are able to decide our execution process and the way forward strategy sometimes at certain level the good managers plan their move based on the data. Planning in the initial stages is done for a particular period or the time frame is considered. planning has disadvantage also to some extent it makes the administration inflexible that is allows the administration to work on certain parameters or the guidelines which have been stramlined or have been planned already.No individual freedom,employee motivation and their growth is stagnant,individual initiative and experimentation are discarded.Planning can be used for individual interest and this discards the management interests.Misdirected planning,time consuming,negative sense of insecurity,planning cost lot of finance we need to allocate the finances and see that the money is blocked for executing the plans. As a good and competative manager he would certainly ensure that both the parameters are used in a positive way rather it shall ensure that the planning is taken in a positive frame of mind. He would certainly lead the team and the staff in such a way that the planned expences and the activity are clearly understood and one takes it in a positive way.
