The German ad caught the attention of Eminem and 8 Mile, Eminem’s publishing company. They notified Audi that the ad constituted an unauthorized use of their intellectual property. Eminem and 8 Mile have the rights to sue Audi for Copyright infringement. Enforcement of copyright infringement would not only mean that Audi will have to pay money damages but can also be charged with criminal activity of copying of intellectual property. However, it depends on the extent to which the ad seems to be copy of the original and the copyright holder whether it is 8 Mile or Chrysler.
