Founder and the Ex-CEO of Apple, Steve Jobs has planned his succession for the years, and has built a very huge and big library of multi-media and instructional materials to aide and continue his legacy. His successor, Tim Cook, was also tutored for numerous years. In the case of Apple there were likely other employees, but it was very evident and clear to the external world for fairly some time that Tim Cook was Steve Jobs' replacement. But unlike in the case of IBM, where Palmisano erected aside tranquilly at the highest of his career, Mr. Jobs chose to work right up until his death. This is an admirable and encouraging approach, but it does not tranquil shareholders, employees and customers. Apple stock’s has drastically dropped about i.e. about 6% since this transition took place, and most of the Apple watchers are now nervous about what will happen in future. But gradually company is growing and recovering

It is due to the excellent and successful planning done by one of the most leading company i.e. Apple of the world that they are constant in the market. For companies like Apple who maintained their reputation, image, market share and the brand image is due to the successful training that has been given by the Jobs to his successor Tim Cook who is able to maintain the same legacy even after death of Steve Jobs. Succession planning could not be done in a year or couple of year but it is long planned process that was inculcated in the company. It is due to that proper planning of Mr. Jobs that the proper successor was selected to lead the company and take it ahead to the heights of success and excellence.
