Clothing items are mostly designed in India, Europe (especially Italy). Production of the clothing items happens in Bangladesh, Indonesia and Thailand. Cotton and Silk fabric is imported from India. In addition to India, Linen, Lycra is also imported from European countries such as France. India is a major source of most of most of the fabrics used for clothing. The finished product reaches consumers through retail channel, after the items are produced in contracting manufacturing facilities in third world countries such as Bangladesh, Thailand, Indonesia and China.

Lead-pencil has its origins in US. Faber Castell with its headquarters in Germany is currently the world’s largest and oldest manufacturer of pencils. It has manufacturing plants in 14 countries.

Pocket knife is best known as Swiss knife. Pocket knife is made in Switzerland and exported worldwide.

Furniture is mostly made in Malaysia, Indonesia and China. High-end furniture is made in Europe. Wood for the furniture comes from forests in Indonesia. Products are manufactured in different countries and leads to healthy competition.

Food is in the form of raw fruits and vegetables, processed/canned food. Sources of raw fruits and vegetables are mostly local. India is a major exporter of grains, pulses, spices and sugar. Processing and packaging/bottling is done in countries of consumption.
