What disaster plans were in place prior to the disaster, if any? If there were plans in place, how did the plans impact the disaster?

The best example for the disasters is Japan. Japan is a country which is prone to multiple disasters. The country always had extremely high unexpected weather/natural disasters. Japan is the country with maximum earth quakes. It is a country with maximum floods, and maximum volcanic eruptions. Japan even experienced nuclear disasters too. No other country in this world has such multiple and extensive disasters. This country is known to teach the world what disaster management is.
Let's see what are the list of natural disasters Japan had in the last 10 years.
Volcanic eruptions -
Earth Quakes - There are many earth quakes, but the most intensified earth quake called Tohoku earthquake happened on 11 March, 2011. The death toll for this earthquake is 15,881.

Tohuku earthquake is our topic of discussion now. Japan is a country with maximum natural disasters and Tohuku disaster is the worst among the recent times which hit almost 80% of the companies. Most of the organizations supply chains got disrupted due to this disaster.
Japan is the country which is known for its quality management practices. It has best of the quality policies in place. If a natural disaster hits Japan, then it creates ripples in most of the countries in the world. The supply chains get disrupted and operations stop for days and months. Since all the major auto makers and manufacturing companies are based in Japan.

Disaster management - Although Japan has huge natural disasters, the affect of the disasters just affect the company operations. None of the companies are collapsed in earth quakes or flushed away in floods. That is beacuse, they have aperfect planning for their disasters. The foundations of all the buildings are made up of atleast six storied towers of steel and concrete. The companies have evacuation plans like subway systems planned, motor ways established for any unexpected disasters. Due to those evacuation plans, the country and the companies could survive from any natural disasters.
