Question
Do you agree or disagree? Why? In my current position, my job title is Sr. Operation Manager. This means I am not only responsible for assisting my team but helping my peers and being accountable for other operation managers. Leadership in the corporate world is mostly set around ensuring the job purpose is being carried out and leading good behavior (Manning and Curtis, 2012). I believe leadership is leading your people to the desired end or goal. However, I think true leadership goes beyond the goal of the company. I try to encourage my workers and to become “a better you,” rather that is a more responsible citizen, mother, or leader. Investing in your people or caring for them outside the boundaries of work will lead to better employees. A good leader is important and dictates the progress of an organization. A good leader will transform group of individuals into a functioning team with one goal. I believe that all three types of leaders, which is teacher, hero, and ruler must exist for a leader to reach its full potential (Manning and Curtis, 2012). An effective leader will make individuals better which can makes them more valuable to the company. Leaders help the vision to be accomplished while ensuring ethical practices are being carried out within the organization. Leaders are important due to they are on the front line with employees leading the employees to victory. Mother Teresa is ranked highly respected and flavored among many countries. She was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for her humanitarian service with her community and in other countries (Bio.com, 2016). Not only was Mother Teresa known to humankind as a nun that cared for the poor and the sick. She was also a teacher that was promoted to a principal. In her leadership role she became two of the three types of leader, a teacher and hero to all mankind. She did not only influence those of her same religion but she touched many lives. In the early 1900s, it was not easy for a woman to gain a position or platform to society but Mother Teresa gained her position through her diligent sacrifice Her humbleness speaks volume because she could have easily become a motivational speaker, an idol to some, or lived a more prestige lifestyle. However, her commitment was helping others less fortunate than herself. Mother Teresa, as an effective leader, possessed what most leaders do and that is a upbeat demeanor and passion in their career (Hill and Farkas (2008). This is what makes Mother Teresa an extraordinary leader not only within her religion but in the public eye. Reference Manning, G., & Curtis, K. (2012). The art of leadership (4th ed.). Explanation / Answer
It is always the leadership which motivates the employees to work effectively. In bossism you can make your employees work and can also achieve goals within the limit set but it is through proper leadership you can get that done in a more better way. In bossism one cannot think beyond the Organizational goals but the person with proper leadership skills will go beyond this point and get things done with the human touch. It is then employees will develop the feelings of oneness and will try to take the task as their responsibility instead of burden which has to be completed within a particular period. In the above scenario Manager was very correct in dealing with the people as it is through leadership things can get done with high quality and the employees will also have satisfaction at the end of the project as they will be treated and will be given all the concern they expect and deserve. It is definitely Mother Teresa who have changed and made a very big impact in the way people think. She taught to the society that its not only you who have to be happy. She is the one who taught that serving needy people is equal to serving god. She only had service motto in her mind and made a vey big impact on the mind sets of the people. She couldnot have been so successful in motivating people and making them work selflessly for the needy people if she is not good leader. She possess all the characterstics a true leader should have. That is the reason she is able to influence thousands of people and changed the way they think. Treating everybody in a equal way is the main thing that a true leader should possess and she had that quality. That is why she is very much loved by the people from even out of her own religion. She proved that good leader with human touch and service motto need not to be remembered by the religion.
