Children in the present days are spending less time outdoors. This condition is considered as nature-deficient disorder. This phrase was coined by Richard Louv in his book “Last Child in the Woods”. Richard Louv stated that the disorder is not meant to be diagnosed medically but rather serves description of human alienation from natural world.

Richard Louv states that this condition arises due to media coverage and parents scared children out of woods and fields. . Because of digital age children are more interested in playing and using video games, computers, and internet. Loss of natural surroundings is the major reason for nature-deficient disorder. The nature-deficient disorder is common in urban, sub-urban, and rural children Children have limited respect for nature and are suffering with attention disorders and depression, childhood obesity and myopia.

Sustainable communities emerged in cities, metropolitan districts, and water-shed districts. These are mostly implemented by governments and non-profit organizations. The sustainable communities plan was launched by office of deputy prime minister in 2003 in United Kingdom.

An endangered species is categorized in Red List by IUCN that is likely to get extinct. In the United States, the southern sea otter an endangered animal which is protected under ESA act. The endangered animal population is mostly raised by captive breeding and private farming.

US food-aid policy is inefficient, unsustainable and even detrimental to combating food insecurity. Unlike, other countries US sells a part of its food-aid to recipient government for improving its cash for developing projects.

The White House Office of Faith-Based and community Initiatives is an office in White House Office. This was established by President George W. Bush through an executive order in 2001.
