b. Inserting a glass tube in the rubber stopper is done by first making a proper hole on the rubber stopper, the size of the glass tubing. Rinse the glass tube with water for lubrication. Then very carefully bringing the tube near this opening and inserting the tube in the hole. Always wear protecting gloves before inserting the tube and handling the glasswares.

4. Volume of CO2 collected over water is measured by taking the difference of final water level to the initial water level.
