Help please!
A) how do the concentrations of HCl OH- and Ca2+ relate to each other at the endpoint of an acid-base titration? How is this information used to determine Ksp and delta G?
B) Based on the delta G=-RTlnK expression, would you predict that AgCl (s) dissolving into Ag + (aq) + Cl- (aq) ksp = 1.8x10^-10 a spontaneous process?
would you expect Co 3+ (aq) + 6NH3 (aq) forming the [Co(NH3)6]3+ complex ion [Kf=4.5x10^33] to be a spontaneous process?
How does the magnitude of the equilibrium constant relate to the delta G?
Explanation / Answer
A) at the endpoint HCl conentration totally consumed by OH- concentration .it is spontaneous process
Ca(OH)2 + 2HCl -----------------> CaCl2 +2 H2O
it is spontaneous process so delta G value is negative . Ksp value of Ca(OH)2 will increases
B) Ksp value is very low . if Ksp is very low delta G value is positive . so it is not spontaneous
c) Kf=4.5x10^33 it is vey high value . so delta G value is more negative so it is spontaneous process
